Homegrown Handsome

This senior session was so special for me because he’s the son of one of my best friends.  I stopped at one point, with my jaw dropped open, and just stared at my friend. “Do you realize,” I said, “that he is less than a year away from when we first met each other?!” Shaking off the geriatric dust I gathered on memory lane, let me also say that I truly enjoyed this session because of who I was photographing.

Not often do I get the privilege of photographing someone I once held in diapers.  To see how he has grown and the young man he has turned into was a great joy.  He is unassuming, quiet, and appreciates the small joys in life.  Don’t draw your conclusions that he is without an ornery streak, because his little sister can cite a laundry list of indiscretions.  And, he is his mother’s son, after all!  When push comes to shove, though, he is loyal, thoughtful, a huge fan of his dog, and has such a courageous soul.

How can I be so sure? After his senior session, all his friends gathered for photos before the homecoming dance. This is a group of tight-knit friends who love to laugh and walk through life together.  Sure, no group of friends is drama-free, but when you see the way they look at each other, there was nothing but admiration and fondness.  That’s my proof that this kid is going to be just fine in life!

I’m also glad that my friend is going to get the Image Cube as a fun way to display his photos – because there were too many to just choose just one for a frame!

See more photos…

Thanks for reading! It’s just one of the ways I put a smile back into the world!
